When Destiny confronted him, he grabbed her, attempted to strangle her and inflicted injuries on her face with several bites. The lady was said to have held him, raised alarm which attracted neighbours who held Richard and contacted the police.

He was arrested and taken to Ajao Police Division for interrogation while the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The motive behind his action was not known as the lady told the police that she did not know him before he invaded her shop and carried out the attack.

The prosecutor, Inspector Oje Uagbale, informed the court that since he had pleaded guilty in the middle of the trial, the court should sentence him accordingly to serve as deterrent to others who might try such in future.
