Hon. Gerry Okolie, Imo State Commissioner for Rural Development and Rural Lands has applauded Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha on his efforts to extend his developmental strides to all the rural areas in the state.
Okolie who gave this commendation while addressing his staff during the inaugural meeting with them at his office on Thursday, availed that Okorocha’s reason for establishing the Ministry is to develop the rural areas in the state to compliment the cities and to reduce rural-urban migration.
The Rural Development and Rural Lands Commissioner, also used the opportunity to urge the staff to be dedicated to duty and to work as a team in order to achieve the purpose for the creation of the Ministry.
He equally admonished the staff against lateness to work, truancy and absenteeism to work, adding that he is ever committed to ensuring that the Ministry lives to its expectations.
In her speech, the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry, Lady Ogechi Ibeagi who on behalf of the staff congratulated the Commissioner on his appointment, thanked him for the meeting and assured him of their total support and cooperation.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Administration and Finance, Mr. Maduwuile Maurice who described the meeting as a good start and a right step in the right direction, also prayed that God will grant the Commissioner the wisdom and strength to run the affairs of the Ministry for utmost success.
